Fun with Computers

As you may have read, I’m in the process of building a new server for work. It is in place, running concurrently with the old. It was my intention to gradually change systems over, so that any problems encountered would be one at a time and therefore very small.
HD2 on the old server died over the weekend.
Rollout is tonite, everything. New DB clients, new NT Domain names, new network drive mappings, new IMAP mail system. Tonite.

I need a drink.

I sadly under post to this part of the site. I’ve just been reading the stats, and this page is not read very often. So, as I have said before but this time I mean it, I resolve to keep this page updated.
No, really.

I guess posting bits and pieces over the course of the day is better than trying to post one big post once a day. Tany does it, gil sorta does it.
I’ll work on it.

Ooops

Well I’ve done it. I hit 3Gb on my cable connection.
But the cable company is generous, and do not disconnect, the y merely throttle.
I’m now downloading at a blistering 28.8kBps.
Wheeeeee!
But it’s only for 3 days, cos it speeds up again at the start of the month. At least it’s still connected.

4 days off!!
I kow, it’s including the weekend, but hey, that’s allright. I just hope that nobody from work calls me on Monday or Tuesday.
For then, I shall have to clean the guns (twitch).
