Just reading some of the posts on the NaNoWriMo site, and I’ve decided to stop displaying my story for all and sundry here.
I’ll leave what is done as an excerpt, but if you want to read the rest, you need to a registered user of the forums to even see where the story is kept.
This way, I’ll still have “first rights” and I might be able to sell the story one day.
From what I can gather, any work displayed in a public medium is deemed published. However, if it is displayed to a select group of people, such as registered users of a forum system, then that’s no different to showing your manuscript to friends.
I doubt I’ll be able to sell it, but maybe, with a bit of work, it might turn into something readable, so I’ll cover that base.
[edit]Scratch that. Upon discussion with copyright experts (thanks gil), I don’t know what to do. I’ll restrict access to the forum, those who want to read the draft, can, and my critique it.[/edit]

It’s November. I guess I better post. SW is complaining about the front page…meh.
It’ll move down eventually.
What have I been up to? Not a lot really. Work, mostly. Surprise, surprise.
Overall, we’re pretty quiet, except me. I always manage to get lumped with something that will drag out for hours on end into the night.
So I spend a lot of the day sitting around, tinkering, then work from 4.
I should just turn up at 3pm, then work. It’d be so much simpler.
