Roads more slippery after rain, study shows.

Still no cure for cancer.

From the email from New Scientist:
“If you are about to go for a drive and it’s raining, it may well be worth trying to remember when the heavens last opened. If it seems like ages ago, then take extra care. A new study shows that the longer the dry spell before a downpour, the higher the number of road deaths. This could be the result of a build up of engine oil and grease which when mixed with rain turns the road into a skid pan. Or it could be that complacent drivers continue to act like it is still dry.”

I’m surprised this is classed as a ‘new study’ I’ve known this, and have been told about this numerous times for many years now. I just assumed it was known by all..
