No gil, I wasn’t at work yesterday.

I was in fact at “The World’s Longest Lunch” or some such. We thought we might get a little table in a corner and enjoy all the wine we could drink, but as it turns out, it’s one big table, seating 200. Wine was still all you could drink though.

Yesterday saw, for me, a purchase of a new shirt for my junket, a purchase of new shoes to coincide with the disintegration of my old ones ($120.00 seems a lot for shoes, but not when you consider that they last me several years. I don’t know what Nike put into the water in their sweatshops, but it makes those kids make damn sturdy shoes, bless them…)

It also saw the pre-order of Champions of Norrath, a game based in the Everquest universe, but not necessarily online. This is good.

Finally, it also saw the purchase of SOCOM 2. I would just like to say quietly that rocket launcher is awesome, and the ability to dive for cover is a godsend. Just don’t dive for it when you’re on a roof of a building. Very bad.

The funny thing is, we went into the shop to buy Norrath, expecting SOCOM2 to be out next month. It was actually the other way round, apparently. Seems Sony can’t decide what’s going on in their shipping department.

Ah well, back to hunting badguys.

Public Plea

I’m playing with the layout of this, trying to fit more info in one page. If you have any problems viewing this as it is, or indeed at any time, please let me know (aside from the known IE problem). I’ll be doing a bit of fiddling with this over the next few days, so your feedback would be appreciated.
Stuff like, do the columns overlap? Do you need to scroll to get to the info or links you want?
Please let me know yourt screen res, etc when you complain…I mean, report an anomaly.

Thanks

Very Bad: Update

It would appear that the Very Bad Thing has blown over.

The fast-talking email we sent back was sufficiently clad with shiny objects to appease, and make the disgruntled become quite comfortably…gruntled…again.

Pizza Dude

Got pizza for dinner last night. Paid for it by VISA, as I rarely carry cash.
Pizza dude arrives with the credit card receipt.
“I don’t have a pen,” he says, “but it’s OK, cos I’ve been here about a hundred times, so I figure you’re not a risk, and you don’t have to sign.”

Should this concern me? That the pizza dude thinks I’m not a credit risk?
