Finally
The truth about gilmae and myself and our relative heights.
One of the pictures below is unaltered, the other two have been ever so slightly retouched. See if you can guess which is which.

Penny Arcade
“When the suspense can no longer be borne, the burrito is breached to reveal a hermaphrodite. I don’t know if burritos are their larval stage, or what. I have no idea what the fuck it is doing in there. Honestly, the magicians seemed a little surprised too, but they can’t make it look like the contents of their own Goddamn burrito were somehow unknown to them. It begs the question - was he always in there? Can hermaphrodites turn invisible? Have we thus far underestimated the hermaphrodite threat?”
Christ those boys are funny.
Holiday… continued
We managed to find time while in Sydney to visit one Rick Price. Managed to take about 60 photos of him and his studio for his website. he also makes a mean espresso.
Tuesday, we got the car packed in Sunny Bondi, checked out of the hotel, and went for a walk down to the beach for some breakfast (yoghurt smoothies, yum).
Back at the car and we’re ready to go!
Only some dickhead (read: me) left an internal light in the car on. For 3 days.
Car no go.
Fortunately, we signed up for the RACV before leaving, “just in case”. NRMA man came nice and quick, gave me a jump start and we were off!!
We went from Bondi through Sydney itself, on to Woollongong, waved at Talen, past Albion Park, waved at Talen’s house, and on to Shoalhaven Heads for the night. A very pretty place indeed.
The next day (yesterday) was the drive down to Merimbula. We went via one of Sephy’s favourite childhood holiday spots, Tuross. This is a place where a stratch of land has a lake on eaither side, and end at the ocean. From the hills above, simply stunning.
Today and tomorrow we are at Merimbula, before going on to Lakes Entrance tomorrow - that will be quite a hike.
There should be an internet cafe in Lakes as well. This is good, because I still have work email to check…
Ahhh Bondi…
Monday morning, internet cafe, Bondi beach.
‘Nuff said.
Had lunch yesterday with gil, Danae and tWM. A great time was had by all, and proof was finally obtained regarding just whom is taller than whom.
Good car trip, about 10 hours all up. Had to buy a street directory, and discovered that Sydney is as crap to drive around as any capital city.
Ferries, however, are a different matter. After gil and D and tWM headed home, we caught one of the many busses into Circular Quay, and hopped a ferry to Darling Harbour. That particular route takes you under the Harbour Bridge, and I must say, it is particularly nice at night.
I am surprised by the weather. It’s remarkably warmer than I thought it would be. I guess that’s the advantage of being on a higher latitude. It’s the middle of winter and we’re wandering about on a *beach* in a *t-shirt*. Unheard of.
Anyway, time’s up soon, then we’re off down the coast. Not sure how often we’ll have access, but we’re getting dialup access for the laptop, so if we find a phoneline, we’ll be right.
