His Holiness

The Pope has a new book out, “Memory and Identity”.
The contents of this volume are irrelevant to me, since I am not catholic, nor getting into heaven (God and me? We have an ‘understanding’)
I think the title could use a little work.

“Better than a Pope in the eye…”

“Behind the dress”

“Pope on a Rope”

“Papal don’t Preach”

any more?

I gave the nose 2 thumbs up…

Went to see “Cyrano de Bergerac” last night, a new adaptation of the old play.

A lot of verse was maintained, pretty much all of it rhyming in some way, without one use of the word ’smorange’. Funny in a lot of places, snortingly so at points but maybe that was just me. There was also a cunning plan in there, which tells you something about the director.
The were a couple of swordfights, which were quite well done, actually. The characters were well portrayed, especially Cyrano and the fops.
Roxane heaved appropriately, and at times I feared for her bodice.

I know there’s only 1 other person in Melbourne who reads this, but I suggest you go see it if you get the chance.
