OK, so after all the unpleasantness, and the consumer affairs guy going on holidays after calling MS on my behalf, I’ve got somewhere.
CA guy rang and asked if I’d heard from MS, cos he hadn’t. I said no, so he said he’d chase them up.
He called back an hour later “I’ve just spent 50 minutes on the phone, 30 of that on hold. In short, they claim to have been trying to contact you for 3 weeks.”
“Not true.” I said.
“Yeah. Sometimes its all just too hard for them. Anyway, if you call them now, quote your reference number, they’ll send you details for a warranty return.”
So, I did, and they did, and I packed it in a ton of bubble wrap, foam sheets, and the biggest box we had at work, cos, well, it was reply paid.
Now I just wait until it comes back.
