Eek!! It’s a coup!! A day in the life of Sephy and Pre…
Greetings, people! Sephy here!! :D Yes, I have momentarily wrested control of the blogginess from HWMBO…. mwahahahahah!!
The Melbourne run of SPAMALOT at Her Majesty’s Theatre finishes tonight. We have talked about going since it started, but haven’t quite got there, so we decided last night that we would catch the matinee today.
We drove into town and parked in our usual spot. Saw Nick Cave sauntering through the carpark. Sephylogic suggests that the underground carpark of the Melbourne Arts Centre should therefore be named the Nick Cave. Or something. :D
Continued on our merry way through the Arts Centre and out onto St Kilda Rd. Almost walked into a young lady who was bustling into the Arts Centre, obviously intent on her destination, and also almost walked into the young man rushing to keep up with her. (turns out it wasn’t them, Pre’s just crazy.) and headed on to breakfast (at World, Jeh. Fatty Boombah Breakfast - and many lattes after 90 minutes’ sleep - absolutely rules.) Note to self: anyone who comes to visit us in Melbourne needs to have breakfast with us at World. I did forget to have some of that freaky tea, though…
So. How is it, that in a city of almost 4 million people, we keep managing to run into Tany and Anfy????? She was obviously in a hurry… no doubt to see this Nick of the Underground Cave person… so we just laughed a lot
On to Her Maj, which is diagonally opposite Southbank and about a half hour brisk walk. The only tickets left were in the front row of the dress circle and Not Cheap. But they turned out to be worth every cent. Spamalot is completely hilarious, and the cast were superb. Without exaggeration. I’m a harsh critic, but not one note was fluffed nor one step out of place in the entire performance. And did I mention that it was freakin’ hilarious?
Wandered down to Y&J’s, had a beer at Chloe’s Bar (another Melbourne institution) and home. Pre, make with the posting of the trashy souvenirs…. :D
Love Sephy :D
Water Woes
It takes 11,000 litres of water to make a quarter pounder. Every burger I don’t eat adds on to my personal water credit. I can now shower non-stop for 15 years on a clear conscience.
Also, my personal theory on how to aid drought-stricken farmers. Instead of paying aid for them to stay where they are and produce nothing, pay them to move to wetter climates and grow appropriate crops. They can move further north where there’s more year-round rainfall. Like a rainforest. Strip the rainforest, plant crops, profit.
Hey, it works in Brazil…
Coffee
Got some coffee beans to grind the other day.
We’ve had espresso before, and moch kenya, but this one’s new. It’s an all-day flavour.
Brazilian.
Very smooth…
